Firefox Add On Test Tools: FireShot and Firesizer

Last week we started a series of articles on Firefox add ons (Firefox Add-On Test Tools: Page Validator and Link Evaluator). This week I've reviewed two more FireFox add on test tools that can be useful during web testing: Firesizer and FireShot. Firesizer provides a menu and status bar to resize the window dimensions to a specific size. And, unlike other similar extensions, this one sets the size of the entire window, not just the HTML area.

The second Firefox add on reviewed this week is FireShot. FireShot is a Firefox extension that creates screenshots of web pages (entirely or just visible part). And, unlike other extensions, this plugin provides a set of editing and annotation tools, which let users quickly modify web captures and insert text annotations and graphical annotations. With FireShot, captures can be uploaded to FREE public screenshot hosting, saved to disk (PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP), printed, copied to clipboard, e-mailed, and sent to configurable external editor for further processing. This would come in very handy for including screenshots with your bug reports. Unfortunately, this add on does not work in OS X.

You can download and install FireShot here and Firesizer here.
