Upgrading from Mac OS Tiger (10.4) to Snow Leopard (10.6) Can Be Done For $140 Less Than Officially Claimed By Apple

For those of you that will be upgrading directly from Mac OS 10.4 to Snow Leopard - Good News! Apple claims that in order to upgrade older Tiger systems, you'll need to buy a “boxed set” that includes other software and costs $169. And the reason is because you did not pay the $129 to upgrade to Leopard (10.5). However, Walt Mossberg and Lifehacker are reporting that the $29 Snow Leopard upgrade will install 10.6 in its entirety without having already installed Leopard. That's a great deal.
