We published an introductory article on TestOptimal earlier this year (
TestOptimal - A Model-Based Testing Automation Tool For Web Applications). Since then, the TestOptimal developers have been busy adding new features, tutorials and examples. We spoke with the developers and asked them how we might integrate our model generation tool with TestOptimal. They anticipated a need like this and had already built a capability to import models created using external tools (rather than enter the model using TestOptimal). We were pleased to discover this capability and feel it's time now to put what we know about TestOptimal to work. For the next few weeks, I'll provide another of our HOWTO series on TestOptimal.
This HOWTO series will be presented in 4 parts and will cover:
- Creating a model for import into TestOptimal
- Creating a TestOptimal mScript
- Generating Test Sequences
- Analyzing Reports
Next week we'll publish Part 1 of this HOWTO series where we will create a model, based on a popular website, using RTL's model generation tool, then convert that model for import into TestOptimal.
